Wendy Wild -- 1956-1996.
This is Wendy Wild's autobiography. She wrote this in May 1996, just months before her death from breast cancer.

Well, you could say I've done alot, from recording with Bronski Beat, to fighting cancer with a bone marrow transplant. This is merely the tip of the iceberg, but when it's all over, and I'm breathing my last breath, I'll be saying........."is that all there is?".
The last place I saw Wendy was at Dick's Bar and now that's closed. She was battling cancer at the time but upbeat. When I expressed surprise that she was out and about, she said "Oh yeah, grandma's still around!" She was brilliant, miss her and the East Village she represented.
I adored Windy Wild .What a wonderful life .Both John and Wendy were as nice and sweet as can be .I actually shared the stage with them more than a few times .Those were very fun and special days .thanks for this story Dany and Ande for putting it together.Takes me back with smiles and a longing for those times .xo J.P.Dougherty

Wendy Wild now has an entry on Wikipedia, and rightfully so. It also links to this wonderful blog.
